President's Message

A few weeks ago, several board members and I headed to Tempe for ALA's Chapter Leadership Institute (CLI) - 200+ chapter leaders discussing what's actually working and listening to industry experts. CLI is smaller than our national conference. You get quality time with people and deeper conversations. It improves your skills as a chapter leader and makes you a better law firm leader, too.

Which brings me to something your board wants to do this year – hear from you! What do you actually need from this chapter? Not what we assume you need, what you actually need. Maybe you’d like to become more involved, including joining the Mile High Chapter’s board?  Send me an email or grab me at an event. We want to meet our members where they need us most.

You can also expect to see us more on social media, and keep an eye out for website enhancements to improve your user experience!

Our AI Subgroup meets again Thursday, August 27, 10-11 AM over Zoom. A special guest and chapter business partner – Zach King with Technology Architects - will join us in August to join the conversation and provide insight to attendees. See below for more on Technology Architects, and join the subgroup to hear more insights from our other IT business partners in future sessions. If you are curious about how AI is showing up in legal administration, reach out, and I'll add you to the group. 

Last thing - know someone who should join this chapter? Bring them to our Membership Open House, Thursday, August 13, 4-7 PM at Michael Best & Friedrich. Prizes, scholarships, and a good excuse to make an introduction.

Retreat

Join us in beautiful Snowmass for a retreat experience designed to inspire both personal and professional growth.

We’re thrilled to announce that ExperienceYes is returning to our October 2026 Retreat! Building on the energy and insights they delivered last fall, the team is back with fresh, expanded material that deepens last year’s concepts while standing fully on its own. Whether you joined us in 2025 or this will be your first experience with ExperienceYes, their new Bounce Back: Resilience in Motion sessions are designed to engage, empower, and equip.

Bruce and Gail Montgomery brought the house down with their energizing, neuroscience‑backed approach to personal and team resilience, so we’re bringing them back for a program tailored to the realities our members face today. This year’s sessions offer practical tools to recover more quickly, respond with intention, strengthen team dynamics, and stay effective under pressure.

Across three half‑day sessions we will explore strategies grounded in neuroscience, real‑world scenarios, and interactive, hands‑on learning. Expect powerful takeaways, immediate application, and yes… plenty of laughter along the way.

Upcoming Education

Join the Chapter for our next virtual education session, Colorado Pledge to Legal Well-Being, on August 26th featuring Ryann Peyton, Executive Director of the Colorado Office of Professional Excellence.

The legal profession comes with many inherent challenges, but there are also unnecessary barriers that can impact the well-being and performance of legal professionals. During this session, Ryann will introduce the Colorado Pledge to Legal Well-Being and explain how this first-of-its-kind Colorado Supreme Court initiative is helping transform the culture of legal workplaces across the state.
