Please join the Mile High Chapter Education Committee at our monthly luncheon on March 19, 2020 as Dr. Shannon Andrus will present on "Digital Communication in the 21st Century."  This session will cover how to email effectively, manage information overload, and conquer distraction.  Technology has made our lives easier in many ways, but it comes with a price. This session will cover tips and tricks for improving email, the most common form of business writing we do today. It will also address how to manage information overload and stay focused in a world of technological distraction.

Session Objectives:

  • Strengthen knowledge of professional email etiquette.
  • Learn how to best structure emails for improved clarity and increased efficacy.
  • Understand the underlying logistical and psychological processes which can lead to the feeling of having “information overload” and how to manage it for improved professional efficiency.

Dr. Shannon Andrus is a writing expert who helps employees, managers, and leaders sharpen their English grammar, punctuation, spelling, and proofreading skills. She also shows participants how to compose clear and effective emails, proposals, and reports. In addition to business writing, Shannon speaks on gender matters in the office and the classroom. Shannon began teaching writing as an undergraduate and has continued to work as a teacher, editor, and trainer ever since. She earned her master’s in liberal studies and her doctorate in education. She is a co-author of Teaching Girls: How Teachers and Parents Can Reach Their Brains and Hearts.

Please join us at the Wells Fargo Center, Assemble Conference Room, Lower Level 2, 1700 Lincoln St, Denver, CO.  The Board has agreed to continue with valet parking for those members outside of downtown Denver.  Please indicate in your registration if you will be using that service.
