The Professional Development Committee of the Mile High Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators welcomes you to Fort Collins for the Mile High ALA 2018 Annual Chapter Education Retreat, October 5-6, 2018.  This years’ retreat will be held at The Elizabeth Hotel in Fort Collins, CO.

Enhancing Interpersonal Effectiveness

Excellent communication skills are at the heart of successful leaders and organizations. Without proper communication, teams are riddled with conflict, people are misunderstood, progress is stalled, and productivity and revenue are not optimized. Through self-assessments, exploration, and skills practice, you will gain practical experience initiating and responding to various forms of communication and gain the skills to collaborate with others.

Session Objectives:

  • Identify barriers to effective communication – and fix them!
  • Utilize techniques to communicate effectively to others
  • Understand (and avoid) miscommunication
  • Build collaborative relationships that emphasize trust and respect

 

Anna Conrad, JD is the founder of Impact Leadership Solutions, a Denver based leadership development and consulting firm founded in 2007. Anna has coached and trained thousands of people in over 200 countries. The Missing Link: Traps and Tricks of Confident Leadership

Confident Leadership is like walking a tightrope: too little, and you have no credibility; too much, and you are seen as a bully (or another B word). Striking the right balance is a critical - and often elusive - skill. This highly engaging and informative session provides participants with a deep understanding of what makes a Confident Leader as well as specific tools and a personal action plan to get there.

Your wardrobe and the way you present yourself says a lot about you and affects how others perceive you. This seminar will help you align the way you dress with your desired image, while teaching you practical tips for putting together a stylish and appropriate wardrobe for work, pertaining to both menswear and womenswear.

Session Objectives:

  • Put effort in to make it look effortless
  • Layer for added style
  • Add small accessories and make a big difference

In this seminar you will learn practical tips for building your wardrobe, so that every day you can dress professionally, with style.

Rachel Lefort of Rachel Lefort Style is a Personal Fashion Stylist who helps women and men to update their wardrobe and elevate their image, working carefully with each client to help craft the right looks for their lifestyle. Rachel provides wardrobe consulting, personal shopping and outfit styling, as well as seminars for businesses and organizations. For men she also provides J. Hilburn Custom Menswear for well-fitting professional, business casual, social and casual clothing, assuring the right fit and style for each occasion.

Rachel’s expertise comes from more than 20 years in the fashion industry, including her training in fashion design in New York and Paris-- at Ann Taylor and Maggie Norris Couture in New York, and Christian Dior and Balmain in Paris, as well as several years of styling individual clients throughout Colorado, and a position as Fashion Editor/Stylist at Denver Life Magazine. From Rachel’s success styling gentlemen for J.Hilburn, she was recently selected as a National Ambassador and trainer for the Denver region. Rachel mentors other stylists to help them achieve their goals in growing their own personal styling businesses.

Rachel truly enjoys helping to empower her clients with the self-confidence that comes with an updated look and a stylish wardrobe. She believes it’s not about the latest fashion from the runway- it’s all about personal style and confidence.
