MILE HIGH MOVES – April, 2020

Mile High Moves

Welcome to the 2020-2021 Board Year and first Mile High Moves news brief! We have all been on the move from work to home offices, shifting our businesses from in person to virtual with Zoom, MS Teams, Go To Meetings, etc., and adapting our leadership skills to meet our firm and legal department needs in these uncertain times. I am pleased to announce that as usual, Mile High ALA has your back! Our amazing Board is working together to make sure we continue to bring you a year of quality education and networking opportunities you have come to expect and look forward to.

Mission: Our mission for the 2020/2021 year is to continue to focus on the future of our organization.  We will continue to leverage partnerships in our community to increase the visibility of the Mile High Chapter ALA.  In addition, we will increase membership engagement by continuing to provide the necessary tools to meet the educational, networking and professional development needs of our Members which allows them to be at their best as strategic partners in their firms’ success.

I.C.Y.M.I  (in case you missed it) :Unfortunately, the 2020 Annual Conference scheduled for May this year has been cancelled.  All of those registered for this conference have been automatically transferred to the 2021 conference dates. You have the option to transfer your registration to someone else or cancel for a refund. Please go to this link for more details:  https://www.alanet.org/events/2020-events/2020-annual-conference-expo/about/conference-update

Education:  The April 16th luncheon titled “Navigating Retirement Plan Issues During the Covid-19 Pandemic” presented by Matthew Eickman, JD, will be available in a Zoom webinar format and is being offered for free to MHC ALA members. Register here: https://milehighala.com/meetinginfo.php?p_or_f=f .
In addition, there will be two (2) scholarship drawings for the Mile High Chapter Conference & Expo scheduled to be held in beautiful Breckenridge in August this year hosted by the Professional Development & Business Partner teams. You must attend to win!

Business Partners: Our Business Partners are an integral part of what makes our Chapter successful.  Without them, we could not offer outstanding speakers for our monthly education meetings, offer the subsidies we do for attending conferences, and create networking opportunities. The Business Partner drive is ongoing and the BP Team is always looking for new Business Partners.  If you have a vendor that is not a current BP, please send Jessie Meier and Sarah Stromberg their contact information.  Jessie’s email is  [email protected] and Sarah’s  email is [email protected] . Our current list of business partners can be found at https://milehighala.com/Current_Business_Partners

Communication: The communication team wants to make sure to keep you connected wherever you may be! Take a moment to download the Mile High Chapter App (available on Google Play or iOs), connect/follow our Linkedin page and look for great photos and news updates on Facebook!
