Education REGISTER TODAY for the Thursday, November 16th luncheon entitled “The New Fiduciary World: Managing 401(k) Plan Risk & Identifying Opportunities” with Matthew Eickman, Qualified Plan Advisors. The DOL has expanded the definition of "Fiduciary" and 401(k) fee litigation continues to ramp up. Join in an interactive discussion about the ways in which employers may turn those risks into opportunities, by improving their fiduciary processes, plan design features, and participant outcomes. This luncheon is officially sponsored by HUB International.

Gary Harrop Award Winner

Please join me in congratulating Susan Gamel as this year’s Gary Harrop Award Winner!

For those of you who do not know, Gary Harrop was an active member of this chapter for close to 20 years. He served the MHC in virtually every capacity and was also active at the national level. Many of the programs we have in place today are due in some part to the efforts of Gary Harrop. He was a great leader for our chapter and a wonderful administrator at Issacson Rosenbaum P.C. Gary embodied what we strive for in our members; he was a great example for us all.

In honor of Gary, the Mile High Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators created an annual $2500 scholarship to be used to attend the National Conference. This scholarship will be presented each year to a member in good standing that meets the following criteria: 1) The recipient must be an active member of at least one chapter committee; and, 2) The recipient must attend at least 25% of chapter functions each year. All eligible member names will be submitted in a drawing to be held each year at the annual Chapter Educational Retreat.

Susan served as an Officer and has been active on many committees for over twenty years.  In fact, this year alone she served as the Co-Chair of the Awards Committee and also served on the Business Partner/Expo Committee, Education Committee and Membership Committee.

We wish Susan the best in her new position of Director of Administration for Thompson Coburn in St.. Louis.  She will be missed at our regular events but she plans to remain a Mile High Chapter member.  Congrats, Susan!
